Macmillan Cancer Support were presented with a cheque for £500 after a charity fundraising event by the Galloway Photographic Collective, held at The Workshop Gallery in Castle Douglas, which is owned and run by AD Livingston & Sons.

A raffle was held with prizes of photographic prints from Allan Wright, Phil McMenemy, Roger Lever and Leeming & Paterson, along with a portrait photo shoot from Kim Ayres.

Other local artists and businesses also contributed an array of prizes to be won, including

Money Raised for Macmillan Cancer Care

A fun and successful evening was had at The Workshop Gallery on Friday where we raised £500 for Macmillan Cancer Care through our raffle and donations via the JustGiving page we set up for the event.

Many thanks to Kenny and Ian for letting us use the venue; to all the generous local businesses who added in an array of items to the draw over an above the photographic prints and photo shoot offered by The Collective; and not forgetting Kim's wife and daughter who made the most mouthwatering chocolate brownies for the occasion.

Below are a couple of snaps from the evening, but Pauline from Macmillan Cancer Care has said she'll be getting hold of one of those large cardboard cheques for a proper press release photo fairly soon.

Macmillan Cancer Support & The Galloway Photographic Collective Charity Raffle Night

This fund raiser for Macmillan Cancer Support will be taking place on Friday, 29th November at 6.30pm, at The Workshop Gallery, 183 King Street, Castle Douglas.

Drinks and nibbles will also be available on the night.

Raffle Tickets, at just £1 each, will give you the chance to win from the Galloway Photographic Collective:
